Summer Internships are very common among B. Tech students Because AICTE has made a compulsory rule that every engineering student should do an internship. I'm an Electrical and Electronics student from the Vellore Institute of Technology. I was always interested in Robotics, the Internet of Things, and AI.So 2 months before my Summer holidays I prepared my resume and started searching for Robotics and IOT companies. Visiting the company's websites, getting an HR mail address, sending my resume was my daily duty at free times. Finally, I got a reply from a Robotics and IoT company named 'Sirena Technologies Pvt.ltd', After HR and technical interviews on the phone I got selected for the internship as an R&D intern.

On the 2nd of May, I was called to join. I met the HR of the company and there were new employees joining on the same day.The HR was very nice and she introduced us to the company and explained about the company in general. We went around the company and introduced ourself to the awesome peoples contributing to the company.

My work:
Shifting to 8th floor: I was very excited to move to the new office, a new workplace. As soon as we interns went inside the 8th floor, we occupied a room and wrote' interns rooms' on the board😂.
The internship went well, learned a lot. Sirena technologies is a good place to work.

My work:
A bot to test the Alexa adapters for speakers.
These adapters are produced by the company are cheap in
price, with the use of these adapters any speaker can become Alexa enabled, It’s
estimated selling price is 1500Rs. The company attracted many big speakers manufacturing companies like
boat, bose , Reliance, etc.. and got 40,000 orders for these adapters.
They have factory setup in Coimbatore, TamilNadu to manufacture these adapters.
The IoT team of
Sirena Technologies, they take care of all the communication protocols
required to upload voice to the cloud
and get the data from the cloud.
There are 4 main buttons are there on the device.
1.Wi-Fi
2. Push-to-talk
3. Power, Mute
4. Bluetooth, Reset.
Whenever any buttons are
pressed a specific color led glows that indicates that everything is working
fine. We were assigned to make a prototype of a device that can automatically
test the adapter PCB.

I was in touch with the R&D team of the company. They were always ready to help whenever I needed help technically.

After completing the first project, I was assigned to learn inverse kinematics for a robotic arm.
This was my favorite board, I was doing all calculations and discussions on this board.
I used to watch youtube videos, search on the internet to complete the work assigned for me. And also employees were helping me.
Whenever employees were free I used to go to them and ask about the work they were doing. I got to know what exactly the company expects from us and how we will be working in a company after graduation.

Apart from work.
The company culture is very good,CEO used to tell,"We don't have any culture in the comapny" .The employees in the company were all like family members and they loved to be in the company more than in home. There was no scanning of id card,there is no minimum working hours,no leave permissions,everyone was working there by heart with love & passion.The CEO was very down to earth and chill,he used to come to us and taking us to play Table tennis and chatting with us for a long time.My Best place in the company is 'pantry', everyday as soon as I reach comapny,I used to drink coffee and eat darkfantacy biscuits.Coke,sprite,mirida,slice were available in the company 24/7.During my summer internship there was cricket world cup going on,So whenever team India's match was there all employees were sitting together and watch cricket match on a bigscreen. I had very good interaction with new employees and fellow interns,we were all sitting in the same room , working and discussing on many enginnering topics,engineering colleges,placements,movies,languages etc...We all were going outside for parties.

On this event, I met with CEO, he shared his experiences with us on how he started the company, about the problems he faced, his previous startups and future plans. He motivated us a lot that day, He personally asked everyone about their interests and plans. We watched Sirena technologies previous videos, ate snacks with CEO enjoyed a lot. we all new employees and interns became Sirenites and started a loving company a lot more.
